Knox security is open to all developers

Samsung Knox News

Ensuring strong security can be a tough component when developing mobile apps. For each industry, vertical, or specialty, you need to consider what needs to be secured, how to secure it, and what security certifications and standards need to be met.  The good news is, you don’t have to do it all yourself. By integrating with Samsung Knox, developers can take advantage of Knox’s ready-made security platform to better tailor solutions to meet industry and company needs. .

SEAP offers better solutions for developers

Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP) is built for developers and partners who are creating secure B2B solutions, whether to bring them to market, or deploy internally. SEAP provides access to Samsung development tools and to sales and marketing resources, to help create and market these solutions, as well as to build a business relationship with Samsung. The goal is to enable developers to take advantage of leading Samsung technologies – including access to Samsung device features, and the security of Samsung Knox.

With SEAP, developers get options for how best to use the Samsung Knox platform. EMM developers and partners can use the Knox Standard and Premium SDKs for device and container management. And these same SDKs can also be used to provide more control over device features within apps – for example, you can require devices to keep their GPS turned on, as part of a fleet management solution.

For additional security over apps and data, Sensitive Data Protection (SDP) and Knox Enabled Apps (KEA) allow you to use the Knox platform to meet the security needs of your business and your customers.  SDP enables you to encrypt and store confidential data – this is specifically designed to follow the Sensitive data section of the Mobile Device Fundamentals Protection Profile (MDFPP), a security standard for mobile devices in an enterprise environment. MDFPP certification is often needed for selling products to government agencies.  KEA provides the ability to place an app into its own secure and isolated container, protecting the app from data leakage.

Knox Customization SDK helps create specialization

Another compelling SDK is the Knox Customization SDK, which provides the ability to customize almost every aspect of a device and turn it into a product specialized for vertical markets – in-flight entertainment systems, point of sale devices for retail, or even informational kiosks.

SEAP provides these tools and support resources so developers and partners can implement the security they need, as well as establish a lasting business relationship with Samsung.  The ability to integrate with these security, management, and productivity features is available through the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP).  Developers can join for free and get open access to a wide range of development tools and resources. There is also the option to join as a partner if already a registered business (a business email address is needed to sign up) - Partners have access to additional sales and marketing tools, as well as the ability to promote the company and solutions.
