The History of Knox
Samsung Knox is established as a business security platform
Samsung entered the mobile enterprise B2B market, to support the trend of using mobile devices for work. This created rapidly growing business device demands for individuals and organizations alike. Initially, Samsung Knox was developed as a built-in security platform to meet the fundamental requirement of the mobile B2B market – keeping corporate data protected, even when working mobile.
Businesses and enterprise clients needed certainty that their work devices and data were secure. Which called for ever-evolving, innovative technology. Samsung wanted to address this fundamental need by creating the Knox Platform for Enterprise. It quickly gained certifications from governments and security expert organizations, which it still holds today.

Samsung Knox had to evolve to keep up with growing demands for robust device management, developing a suite of cloud-based Knox solutions, which utilized the features of the Knox platform. EMMs, OS version control, and device configuration were released to help IT admins manage challenges in real-life scenarios.
As new B2B2C needs came to the fore, Samsung expanded its product offering to cover more use cases, such as rebranding/customizing devices and fraud/theft protection. Our recent evolution meets the need to enhance end user productivity whether at the office or in the field. All accomplished with features such as asset intelligence, event-based policy triggers, minimized enrollment steps, and remote troubleshooting.
