MDM Integration

Mobile Device Management

Give employees the freedom to manage their personal space, while controlling the secure workspace. Knox Workspace is compatible with a wide range of MDM providers, so that you can easily integrate Knox within your existing infrastructure.

How it works

Knox Workspace is a containerization technology that creates a separate, encrypted space on a mobile device for confidential data. It does this by using a custom version of Security Enhancements for Android designed by Samsung.

The Knox container has a separate set of applications and information that are not visible outside the container. Any apps, email or files stored in the Workspace container are encrypted when the container is locked. The data can only be decrypted and accessed when the user enters their PIN, password, pattern, or through biometric authentication.

In addition to data isolation, Knox Workspace allows IT admins to manage a fleet of devices remotely, without intruding on personal data. IT admins can apply more than 1,800 security policies via Mobile Device Management (MDM) software. These policies can control and restrict the functionality of these devices, including enforcing password rules, kiosk mode, geofencing, whitelisting and blacklisting apps, and data sharing restrictions.

Security

With Knox Workspace, you have remote control over your employee’s Knox container on their device. The Knox container comes complete with all the device management you need to set and configure security policies and manage device features, such as GPS, VPN and apps. All MDM policies are transmitted over SSL or LDAP, so you can rest assured that your data-in-transit is more secure.

Bring Your Own Device

The increasing BYOD trend is blurring the lines between work and play, compelling IT to change the way devices are managed. Knox Workspace can help.

How it works

Samsung Knox Workspace is out-of-the-box ready for Knox supported devices. To get started with Knox Workspace, IT admins can purchase a license key to enroll an employee’s device in an existing MDM or Knox Premium. License keys can be purchased through our resellers. Once purchased, employees will be prompted to install the Knox container on their devices and they can immediately start using Knox Workspace.

Security

Supported devices come equipped with the latest security features needed to run Knox Workspace, including SE for Android, TIMA and Trusted Boot. If a device is rooted or contains a malicious OS, Knox Workspace will halt installation, meaning that a compromised device will not leave your company data vulnerable.

IT policies

Get access to the IT policies that you need to protect your enterprise. Knox Workspace includes the latest features in security and device management with over 600 supported policies.

How it works

Policies include data encryption, password restrictions, VPN setup, restrictions to specific apps, and Attestation. Configure these policies remotely from your MDM console. Consult the appropriate MDM documentation to learn more about applying policies. Employees will receive a message in their Notification Bar when an IT policy requires action. For security purposes, messages will only display “Knox Notification” in the personal space.

Security

All MDM policies are transmitted over SSL or LDAP so your Data in-Transit is more secure. Upon purchase of a Knox Workspace license, your Knox policies can be applied immediately when the container is created, so your data is never vulnerable.

Microsoft Active Directory

Seamlessly integrate your company’s Microsoft Active Directory with Samsung Knox Workspace to create a more comprehensive security solution.

How it works

You can use your existing Microsoft Active Directory with Knox Workspace for container or device management. Leverage Microsoft Active Directory features such as groups to deploy policies.

Security

Microsoft Active Directory enables more secure device management by setting and configuring policies for devices with Knox Workspace. Your data in-transit will be more secure with SSL or LDAP protocols for transmitting these policies.
